Due to a promotion within the team, an exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with the ability to work independently and proactively as part of the Resources Directorate to provide a confidential and reliable secretarial support service through a pooled arrangement to senior colleagues who’s roles cover Finance, Legal, Strategy, Digital Transformation & Technology and HR & Organisational Development
This role forms part of the Council’s corporate centre and will offer the chance to work with and alongside colleagues that provide strategic direction and guidance to the whole council.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same and you will be expected to work together and react and respond to urgent requests as well as being proactive and always thinking ahead to ensure that colleagues receive a high level of service at all times.
Ability to manage complex diaries coupled with excellent customer care and communication skills are essential along with the ability to work calmly under pressure. Accuracy and high levels of attention to detail are required in this role as well as good organisational skills. You will have the ability to take minutes and have confidence to use IT to support you in your role.
The position will also require working to tight deadlines as well as closely liaising with other departments internally to the Council and external partners including other Local Authorities across Yorkshire and the Humber.
Full support will be provided in the role, not only from senior colleagues but also from the interim PA to Chief Executive and in their absence the secretary to Chief Executive.
This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who wants to develop their skills further in an administrative/secretarial role and will provide experience to fully understand the workings of a Local Authority at a corporate level and how decisions are made.
