Front of House Manager is a key role within the Royal Southern Yacht Club, responsible for ensuring that members and guests consistently enjoy a warm welcome and excellent service. The post holder will lead the day-to-day running of the Club’s front of house operations, including the bar and dining room, working closely with the General Manager and wider team to deliver a high-quality member experience.
Overview
The Front of House Manager is a key role within the Royal Southern Yacht Club, responsible for ensuring that members and guests consistently enjoy a warm welcome and excellent service. The post holder will lead the day-to-day running of the Club’s front of house operations, including the bar and dining room, working closely with the General Manager and wider team to deliver a high-quality member experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operation of all front of house services, ensuring consistently high standards of hospitality.
* Lead, motivate and manage the front of house team, including rota planning, training, and performance management.
* Act as the visible point of contact for members and guests, ensuring queries and feedback are handled promptly and positively.
* Work with the Events Manager and Catering team to deliver seamless service for Club functions, regattas, and private events.
* Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations.
* Monitor and maintain standards of presentation and cleanliness throughout front of house areas.
* Manage stock control and ordering for the bar in line with budget and operational requirements.
* Support the General Manager in achieving financial targets through effective cost control, upselling, and efficient staffing.
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and member satisfaction.
* Cellar management and maintenance.
Person Specification
Essential
* Proven experience in a hospitality management or senior supervisory role.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a genuine passion for customer service.
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
* Knowledge of licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene standards.
* Basic financial management and stock control experience.
* Experience of rostering staff to meet demand yet ensure cost-effectiveness.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Desirable
* Experience in a members’ club, hotel, or similar environment.
* Interest in sailing or familiarity with yacht clubs.
Terms
* Full-time position, based at the Clubhouse in Hamble.
* Competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience.
* Reporting to the General Manager.
