A growing alternative lender in London is looking for a Senior Credit Underwriter to join their credit team. This is a proper role you'll come in with a signing mandate, contribute to credit committee, and have a say in how the business approaches credit decisions.
The team has an entrepreneurial feel. They move fast, they think commercially, and they want someone who does the same.
Day to day you'll be underwriting unsecured and secured business loans with some exposure to asset finance and property development, conducting second reviews as part of their four-eye process, and helping develop the junior members of the team.
This is not a role for someone who wants to process applications and go home. It is for someone who wants to build something.
What they are looking for: ✍️ Minimum 5 years SME lending experience 🏦 Background in structured finance or leveraged finance at a bank or challenger lender - strongly preferred 🔏 Previous signing mandate - this is essential 🗣️Strong communicator who can articulate credit views clearly to senior stakeholders and the executive team 📊Commercially minded with the ability to analyse, challenge and make confident decisions 🏗️ Someone who genuinely wants to be part of building something, not just ticking boxes
💰 £85,000 🏢 5 days in office, London 📋 Reports directly to the Head of Credit
