The role
We are looking for an Account Executive to cover the German & Austrian market. The AE will find and close new business deals and expand existing customers across the region, leveraging our marketing, partnerships, sales development and solutions engineering teams.
The AE will engage economic buyers within merchant accounts to secure GoCardless as a payment provider, liaising with finance, engineering, product and procurement stakeholders to build business cases and drive commercial arrangements.
What Excites You
* A data‑driven approach to pitching GoCardless to mid‑market (+$100m turnover or +$100m in funding) accounts.
* Closing multi‑territory, multi‑year deals with fast‑growing companies.
* Identifying high‑fit accounts within your territory/book of business.
* Developing account plans and collaborating with marketing to deliver those plans while building your network within those accounts.
* Selling the value of our global payments platform and negotiating to contract closure.
What Excites Us
* Native or business‑fluent German and English.
* Proven B2B SaaS sales experience with a track record of achieving quota (total quota for this role is 600k EUR pa).
* Experience selling to CxO (CFO/CTO ideally) and other stakeholders.
* Understanding of MEDDIC/MEDDPICC or similar sales methodologies.
* Structured sales approach and experience using Salesforce; prior experience selling complex SaaS products (selling APIs is a nice to have).
* High activity, covering a large territory and building a dynamic pipeline.
* Consultative style and the ability to become a trusted advisor.
Base salary range
£64,800 – £97,200 + 100 % OTE.
