Overview
WINEP Project Manager - Senior/Principal (Water Resources) – role at WSP in the UK & Ireland. The position sits within the Catchment Science team in our Sustainable Water Management Consulting group and involves working with multi-disciplinary technical experts to manage WINEP water resources projects for England and Wales.
Responsibilities
* Work across the Sustainable Water Management and Aquatic Ecology teams to manage and support robust technical assessments and high-quality reporting.
* Lead day-to-day client and regulator engagement for delivery of WINEP investigations.
* Project management including financial and change control and quality assurance through checking and reviewing.
* Collaborate with Service Area leads to support development and delivery of the pipeline of WINEP projects.
* Generate high-quality bid proposals and develop innovative solutions to meet client needs.
* Promote a ``safety first'' attitude in line with WSP's health and safety policy and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience of managing WINEP investigations or similar, including project and technical management, with the ability to lead a wider team of experts to deliver robust technical assessments.
* A clear understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations of WINEP investigations, particularly related to the Water Framework Directive.
* Ideally experience in projects assessing impacts of abstraction on the water environment; capability to understand applications and work with technical experts to deliver projects.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
* Strong commercial awareness, client focus, opportunity identification, and proposal development experience.
* Excellent report-writing and technical review skills.
* MSc and/or BSc in a relevant discipline (e.g. earth sciences, environmental science, geography); working towards or having chartership with a relevant professional body.
