Job summary
This is a Fixed Term/Secondment vacancy until 31/12/2027 to meet the needs of the service. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.
Main duties of the job
As a clinical support worker you will work under the direction of the Clinical Team Leader and provide efficient, effective and comprehensive administrative and clinical support to the School Nursing Service.
You will carry out visits to schools as part of the Child Measurement Programme (CMP) to weigh and measure children and young people.
You will support the nursing team in the delivery of health interventions such as immunisation programmes and health education sessions.
You will visit schools and educational settings to weigh and measure children and young people as part of the CMP.
You will plan, organise and prioritise your own workload, while accepting direction and delegation from higher level administrative staff, clinical staff and managers.
You will exercise good judgement, tact and discretion when dealing with patient inquiries, providing a basic identification of needs within the scope of the job and providing nonclinical advice to patients and relatives about admissions and appointments as authorised by the clinical team and team leaders.
You will support administrative staff with general office duties such as photocopying, faxing and printing, handling of post, making and sending appointments, and filing as agreed with the Professional Lead.
You will support the preparation of relevant documentation for the CMP, including preparation of consent forms when required.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 Childcare or equivalent
