Factory Manager Location: Fife, Scotland Industry: Chilled Food Manufacturing The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Factory Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for one of the organisation's largest operational functions, leading a substantial workforce and ensuring the delivery of safety, quality, service, cost and people objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, developing future leaders, embedding continuous improvement initiatives and creating a culture where people can perform at their best. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a large production team, including managers, supervisors and operatives. Take ownership of daily, weekly and long-term production performance. Develop and implement production strategies aligned to business objectives. Drive a strong culture of safety, quality, hygiene and operational excellence. Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety, quality and legislative requirements. Manage labour, productivity, yield and operational cost performance. Analyse operational data and KPI trends to identify improvement opportunities. Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the factory. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Technical, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning and HR. Support succession planning and leadership development across the operation. Deliver operational budgets and contribute to long-term business planning. About You Proven leadership experience within a large-scale food manufacturing or FMCG environment. Strong track record of leading sizeable production teams through managers and supervisors. Experience driving operational improvements, productivity gains and cost reduction programmes. Strong understanding of food safety, quality, hygiene and health & safety standards. Experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Able to build high-performing teams and create a positive, accountable culture. Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
