Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the hotel’s accounting function: general ledger, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management accounts
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss management
* Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity; manage banking relationships
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements (e.g. HMRC, audit)
* Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets
* Cost control, analysis of departmental performance and profit margins
* Work with operations, sales, kitchen, and other departmental managers to integrate financial insight into decision making
* Support capital expenditure planning and investment decisions
Job Specification
* Professional accounting qualification
* Previous experience in hotel or hospitality accounting preferred
* Excellent understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
* Proficient in Excel and accounting software
* High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
