Social Worker – Kinship Assessment Team
Position: Temporary Full-Time, 37 hours per week until May 2027 (Maternity Leave cover).
The role involves contributing to the assessment, support, and supervision of Kinship Foster Carers, and the development of the Fostering Service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conduct robust and complex Kinship (Family & Friends) Assessments (Fostering/SGO) in a timely manner.
* Support and train Family and Friends Carers.
* Participate in monthly reflective case supervision and initial mentorship.
* Work in partnership with carers and colleagues to ensure children can safely live in family homes or other suitable placements.
Qualifications and skills:
* Strong assessment and analytical skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience completing Form K or Form F Assessments is desirable but not essential.
* Commitment to working with extended families and maintaining child safety.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post; cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information presented.
