Responder (On-Call Field-Based Role)
Location: Workington / Western Cumbria
Salary: £18,480 per annum (£9,300 Basic + £9,180 On-Call Allowance)
Shift Pattern: 4 Days On / 4 Days Off

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for two Responders to join a well-established team covering the Western Cumbria region.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, helping customers, and being part of an essential response service. The role operates on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, providing an excellent work-life balance while offering additional earning potential through call-outs and extra shifts.
Based from the Workington office, you will respond to customer requirements across Western Cumbria. Due to the nature of the role, candidates should live within a reasonable distance of the area they will be covering.
What You'll Receive
* Basic Salary: £9,300 per annum
* On-Call Allowance: £9,180 per annum
* Total Guaranteed Earnings: £18,480 per annum
* Additional hours paid at the standard hourly rate when call-outs exceed the daily allocated 4 hours
* Extra shifts paid at:
* £50 On-Call Allowance
* Plus 4 hours paid at the standard hourly rate
* Mileage paid at 35p per mile
* Access to a fleet vehicle for operational duties
* 4 On / 4 Off shift pattern
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to customer incidents and service requests across Western Cumbria.
* Provide a professional, courteous, and customer-focused service.
* Work independently while maintaining communication with the wider team.
* Complete all required documentation and reporting accurately.
* Ensure company vehicles and equipment are maintained and used safely.
* Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
What We're Looking For
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated.
* Ability to work independently and make decisions when required.
* Comfortable working an on-call rota.
* Good local knowledge of Western Cumbria would be advantageous.
* Full UK Driving Licence essential.
* Strong commitment to health and safety.
Essential Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Valid DBS certificate
* Ability to provide two satisfactory employment references.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
