13 Legal Counsel
Dorking Hybrid – 2 days in the office
What will you bring?
We are a leader in employee benefits, protecting over 2 million people, creating security and peace of mind to individuals & families.
We are looking for a pragmatic and experienced Commercial / Contracts Lawyer, of around 2-6years PQE, perhaps already working in-house, or maybe looking to leave private practice, to join our team. As a key member of the Legal Team, you will report to UK General Counsel and support our UK Group companies as well as partner with key stakeholders in the business to provide timely and relevant legal support and advice.
In particular, you will assume your own workload and undertake instructions from Senior Legal Counsel-Commercial, as well as from the Business, on a wide range of commercial matters including supplier contracts, NDAs, IT agreements, software licenses, data sharing agreements and service level agreements. You will be responsible for undertaking contract negotiations and providing legal sign- off where appropriate. You will work closely with the Business stakeholders to advise and assist them in their contractual relationships with customers and suppliers, to provide guidance on legal and regulatory risks and obligations and to ensure Unum adopts a ‘smart-risk’ approach in all aspects of its business.
