Job Description Technician Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a leading organisation within the renewable energy and industrial processing sector in the search for an experienced Engineering Technician. This role forms part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of sophisticated production and process equipment. We are seeking a proactive technician with strong mechanical or electrical capability, a solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to support both routine operations and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of production, process, and site infrastructure equipment. Respond promptly to equipment faults, coordinating repair efforts to minimise downtime. Maintain accurate engineering records, asset information, and maintenance logs using the company’s digital systems. Collaborate with suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliant working practices and effective delivery of engineering tasks. Support ongoing improvement initiatives, contributing to increased operational efficiency and enhanced plant performance. Candidate Requirements Recognised qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent hands-on industry experience. Proven background in maintenance engineering, ideally with exposure to complex process or industrial machinery. Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply safe working practices across all tasks. Competence in using maintenance management systems and associated IT tools. Full UK driving licence and willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota. What’s on Offer Competitive salary in the region of circa £35,000 - £46,000, depending on experience. Stable, full-time role with 42.5 hours per week plus participation in a structured on-call rotation.
