Operations Manager

We are recruiting an Operations Manager for our West End Garden Centre on a full-time, permanent Basis, working 38 hours per week including alternate weekends.

Salary from £37,500 per annum D.O.E

The role of Operations Manager

You will be directly responsible for the Garden Centre health and safety, compliance and maintenance. You will lead all operational areas including Goods in, Customer services and Inventory control departments. You will oversee the stock control and audit processes across the Garden Centre to ensure the highest levels of compliance, standards, and budget achievement. This role is pivotal to the Garden Centre and will involve collaborating with the Operations Team, General Manager and Trading Manager on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of our centre. You will be a trusted member of the leadership team and will be required to be Duty Manager and cover for the General Manager in their absence. You will be passionate about our centres and supporting your team to meet the business objectives and ensure sales, stock and losses targets are delivered and motivating the Operational team to deliver exceptional customer service and standards to our customers. Using your natural passion for accuracy and attention to detail you will embed a high-performance culture within the areas of responsibility, ensuring accuracy and efficient working practices across all operational areas.

Skills required for the role:

* Previous retail and customer service-related management experience
* Excellent communication and networking skills at all levels
* Ability to influence at all levels, with high levels of personal effectiveness
* Ability to adapt style of communication to meet the needs of the audience
* Working knowledge of financially based information and data
* Extensive experience of managing budgets, costs and KPIs to deliver business outcomes
* Planning and prioritizing, working with multiple and conflicting deadlines
* People/team management and development
* Managing and developing large teams
* Ability to motivate and engage a large and diverse workforce
* Strong IT skills
* Critical thinking skills
* Ability to analyse and interrogate data, with high levels of accuracy
* High level of inter-personal skills
* Effective communicator at all levels
* Approachable and engaging style of management
* Enjoyment of team-working

* Highly self motivated
* High standard of personal presentation
* Working knowledge of health and safety legislation
