Job Description
The Division of Psychiatry and Medicine within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking up to two full‑time academic Psychiatrists for its Inpatient Consultation Liaison Service on its Moses Campus and a full‑time academic psychiatrist to join our world‑renowned Abdominal Transplant Service.
The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry service at Moses is a busy and innovative consultation and teaching service which continues to expand to meet the mental health and addictions treatment needs of the medical center. The two new full‑time Consultation Liaison academic attendings will join our existing multidisciplinary team of four and a half psychiatrists, two transplant psychiatrists, three psychologists, and a social worker. The Consultation Psychiatrists will be responsible for direct‑care inpatient consultation patient‑care consults, the supervision of trainees’ consults, and the division’s and department’s activities.
The Abdominal Transplant Psychiatrist position follows a collaborative‑care model. The new Psychiatrist shares all the resources of a busy transplant center, including excellent administrative staff, six social workers, a pharmacist, psychologists, care coordinators, a nutritionist, and physicians from various disciplines. While the Psychiatrist is embedded in the Transplant Center, they are very much part of the Consultation Liaison Team.
As a team we participate in the education and training of many different learners, including medical students, psychiatry and neurology residents, consultation‑liaison and addiction fellows, and psychology interns.
The Moses Campus hospital is a 750‑bed tertiary care, referral hospital with a wide range of services. While the hospital draws patients from the tri‑state area, the mission of Montefiore is oriented toward providing outstanding, comprehensive care to Bronx communities with a focus on social determinants of health and social justice.
Montefiore and the Department of Psychiatry are committed to career and academic development, physician and family wellness, diversity and inclusion and excellence in patient care and medical education. Mentorship and research opportunities are available. We offer competitive salary and benefits. Attendings will be proposed for faculty appointments at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Eligible applicants must be board certified or eligible to be certified in psychiatry. Additional training in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and/or Addictions Psychiatry is highly encouraged but not required.
