Legal Reporter Position
If you have been called to the bar or are a qualified solicitor and are looking for a change of pace, you might be interested in the opportunity to become a valued law reporter. Our client is a prestigious legal publisher with an international readership and requires a law reporter to attend hearings and record notes on ground-breaking judgments, summaries, and rulings.
You will need to take initiative and liaise confidently with management on matters such as whether a case is worthy of publishing and the allocation of time/resources. Responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and formatting judgments into the in-house style. You will communicate regularly with judges and court staff regarding approval for publishing your law reports.
Exceptional written and communication skills are essential, along with strong organizational skills to manage your time efficiently, meet deadlines, handle administration, archive cases, and work collaboratively with team members. A comprehensive understanding of legal judgments and the ability to communicate this concisely in writing are required. Candidates must be qualified solicitors or called to the bar (pupillage not essential). The role offers flexibility to fulfill duties, including court attendance where necessary. Excellent pension arrangements are provided.
This position is ideal for someone called to the bar exploring an alternative career path or not currently seeking pupillage.
