A leading markets firm is undertaking a large-scale migration of critical applications and infrastructure to a modern, high-performance hosting platform. They are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to play a key role in analysing, planning, and supporting the seamless transition of business-critical systems into the target environment.
You will bring a strong technical foundation across application architectures, infrastructure, and integration, combined with the analytical and stakeholder management skills required to navigate complex dependencies and ensure successful migration delivery.
The role involves detailed application discovery, migration path definition, and close coordination with architects, engineers, and programme teams to ensure alignment with delivery timelines and governance standards.
You should apply for this role if you are/have:
* 8–12 years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst within large-scale application or infrastructure migration programmes.
* Strong understanding of application architectures, hosting environments, and technology stacks (Windows, UNIX/Linux, middleware, databases).
* Proven ability to perform end-to-end application discovery, dependency mapping, and migration planning across complex, distributed estates.
* Hands-on experience working alongside solution architects and platform teams to define target-state environments and validate readiness.
* Excellent analytical and documentation skills, able to translate technical analysis into clear, actionable migration artefacts.
* Skilled in stakeholder management, with a track record of engaging senior technology and business teams in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
* Proficiency in JIRA, MS Project, Excel, and SharePoint, ensuring accurate reporting and governance compliance.
You’ll be doing things like:
* Application Discovery & Assessment: Analyse in-scope systems to document architectures, dependencies, and operational criticality.
* Migration Path Definition: Define migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire) in collaboration with architects and engineers.
* Infrastructure Alignment: Work with platform teams to confirm target environment capacity, configuration, and readiness.
* Dependency & Risk Management: Track inter-application dependencies, sequencing, and risks to enable controlled migration execution.
* Governance & Reporting: Maintain migration artefacts, dashboards, and quality documentation aligned to programme standards.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Present findings, risks, and recommendations to technical and programme leadership.
