Womens Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker A rewarding opportunity for a compassionate practitioner with experience in criminal justice, support work, and trauma-informed interventions. You will provide tailored psychosocial support, advocacy and group sessions to help women overcome complex challenges and move towards safer, more stable lives. SALARY: £26,278 FTE / £15,767 Actual per annum (for 22.5 hr/wk) Benefits LOCATION: West Midlands with travel across the Black Country (predominantly Birmingham and Sandwell) JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 22.5 hours per week (days negotiable) JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Womens Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker who is passionate about supporting women experiencing multiple disadvantages and helping them achieve positive, sustainable change. As a Womens Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker you will deliver trauma-informed support through one-to-one sessions, group work and community engagement, helping women address challenges linked to housing, wellbeing, finances, relationships and recovery. Working collaboratively with probation services and community partners, the Womens Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker will provide practical and emotional support, advocate for individuals and help build stronger support networks to reduce re-offending and improve long-term outcomes. DUTIES Your duties as the Womens Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker include: Delivering One-to-One Support: Provide tailored emotional and practical support sessions to women involved in the criminal justice system Facilitating Group Programmes: Deliver therapeutic and psycho-social group interventions that promote positive behavioural change Risk and Needs Assessment: Carry out assessments and develop support plans using strength-based and trauma-informed approaches Community Outreach: Engage women who may struggle to access services and support them to attend appointments and meet licence requirements Advocacy and Representation: Accompany participants to appointments and advocate with partner agencies when required Partnership Working: Build strong professional relationships with probation services and community organisations Progress Monitoring: Review and track progress against support plans and maintain accurate case management records Pre-Release Support: Engage with women prior to release from custody and support their transition back into the community Safeguarding and Risk Management: Identify risks and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed to protect participants and others Programme Promotion: Promote the service and encourage engagement with community resources and support networks CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Previous experience working with women, particularly those facing complex or multiple needs Experience supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system or related services Experience delivering one-to-one support and facilitating group-based interventions Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust Experience carrying and managing an active caseload within a busy service environment Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and person-centred support approaches Ability to work collaboratively with partner organisations across voluntary, public and community sectors Good organisational and IT skills, including maintaining case management records and reports Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and professional boundaries Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and adapt to a dynamic working environment Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Eligibility to work in the UK Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
