Maintenance Technician (Electrician core trade) – Edinburgh Napier University
The Property & Facilities team at Edinburgh Napier University is dedicated to delivering an excellent service and experience for staff, students, and visitors across all campuses. We are hiring a Maintenance Technician (Electrician core trade) to join us and help uphold the positive reputation we have gained by carrying out planned maintenance, reactive works and minor installations.
Responsibilities
* Carry out designated planned maintenance
* Carry out alterations and improvements
* Undertake project and reactive remedial works
* Investigate and identify faults
* Proactively assist in the development of the maintenance provision to further improve quality
The role offers a day-shift working pattern exclusively, providing stability and a good work-life balance. You will be part of a positive team environment with a collaborative approach to ensure campuses are maintained to a high standard.
Qualifications
* Completed recognised apprenticeship, NVQ or City and Guilds Qualification
* Qualified to 17th Edition IEE regulations (18th Edition desirable)
* Good overall electrical knowledge with experience of electrical planned maintenance schedules
* Excellent fault finding and diagnostic technique
* Good team player with the ability to work on initiative when required
Time served and qualified to 17th Edition, with a proven track record of managing electrical planned maintenance schedules, are essential. A positive working style and ability to work as part of a team are also important.

* Starting salary £31,236 – £33,951 per annum (dependent on experience, subject to annual pay increases and cost of living adjustments)
