Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their skills and contribute to our kitchen's success. • Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of dishes for our restaurant and events • Learn and master fundamental cooking techniques whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation
1. Support in the development and execution of menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative flavours • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards at all times • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations • Assist in stock rotation and inventory management • Embrace opportunities for learning and skill development, actively seeking feedback and guidance from experienced chefs • Contribute to a positive and supportive kitchen environment
Qualifications
2. NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent culinary qualification • Passion for cooking and a genuine desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced culinary environment • Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently under pressure • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
3. Basic knife skills and understanding of various cooking methods • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team • Excellent communication skills • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods • Willingness to take on new challenges and adapt to changing situations
