Overview
Herefordshire Council are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable and RBI 3 Principle Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control Team.

Responsibilities
* Lead an existing team of Building Control Surveyors and Technical Support Officers.
* Provide building control service at an operational level, including day‑to‑day activities and administrative duties.
* Deputise for the Building Control Manager as necessary.
* Deal with internal and external customers regarding building control matters—regulation applications, site inspections, building safety levy charges, pre‑application advice, potentially dangerous structure reports and enforcement enquiries.
* Work with IT providers to maintain accurate computer records and prepare periodic data reports.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the council and report directly to the Building Control Manager.
Qualifications
* Understanding of the role of a registered building inspector and the requirements of the building safety regulator.
* Strong knowledge of building control, regulatory issues and current legislation.
* Demonstrable experience and knowledge in this specialist area.
* Ability to work independently and within a team, often meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple work streams.
