Overview
Start Strong. Learn Deeply. Thrive in Newcastle. Newcastle City Council’s Children’s Social Care is building a service rooted in relationships and restorative practice with a focus on early intervention and impact. We’re on a journey to become a UNICEF Child Friendly City and a Marmot City, placing children at the centre of everything we do. This is an exciting time to join the Families First partnership and contribute to delivering earlier, more effective support for children and families. Newcastle City Council is investing in Children’s Social Care and offering new opportunities within our teams.
If you’re a newly qualified or early-career Social Worker looking to build confidence, develop skills, and make a real difference—this is your moment.
The Role
We’re recruiting to our Long-Term Social Work Service, supporting children and families through:

As a Social Worker, you’ll work as part of a supportive team, managing a caseload appropriate to your level of experience. You’ll receive regular supervision, reflective practice opportunities, and access to a structured development pathway to help you grow into a confident, capable practitioner.
