Overview
Do you want to be part of an innovative service that supports children and young people with acute mental health problems in their homes? The Closer2Home service operates across Dorset, including Poole and Bournemouth BCP, and runs 365 days a year from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. As a Community Adolescent Senior Support Worker (CASS) you will join a new multidisciplinary team that provides an alternative to Tier 4 admission and facilitates supported discharges from hospital.
Responsibilities
* Deliver time‑limited programmes of intensive home treatment to young people who would otherwise have been admitted to inpatient care.
* Undertake a range of delegated clinical duties in a community mental health setting, providing direct and indirect care to patients under minimal supervision and as directed by qualified staff.
* Grow autonomously through personal development planning and targeted training, evaluating information and communicating with a range of professionals.
* Support the development of the service and shape future delivery.
Necessary Conditions
* The service is commissioned by the South West Provider Collaborative.
* Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which is covered by the Trust.
* Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of undergoing a new check.
* This is a fixed‑term role, offered on a secondment basis only for those currently in NHS service; permission to be released on secondment is required before application.
Application Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate the required clinical competence, willingness to work autonomously, and a commitment to continuous learning and development. Please ensure your supporting statement reflects the criteria set out in the role documentation.
