Overview
AECOM Manchester, United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Lighting Engineer to drive the future of lighting across the UK, from conception through completion. The Lighting Team provides technical leadership on projects through the infrastructure lifecycle. Clients include private and public sector organisations, with involvement across transport, rail, and related areas. Each team member has a development plan to support personal development and career progression.
Responsibilities
* Develop: Manage engineering tasks, explore subject areas, define project scopes, and create unique solutions.
* Advise: Provide expert technical knowledge and support across multi-disciplinary projects.
* Design: From conceptual stages to implementation, including site visits, lighting designs, private cable calculation designs, CAD designs, production of lighting specifications, Bills of Quantities and liaison with DNO suppliers.
* Ensure Quality: Ensure quality and budget efficiency on projects, navigate the complexities of transportation and landscape projects, and work with clients to address and resolve challenges.
* Collaborate: Build strong relationships with technical teams and clients, leading multi-disciplinary efforts to achieve integrated design solutions.
Qualifications
* Relevant Technical Qualifications: Ideally ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma or equivalent qualification in a related technical field.
* Proven Design Experience: Demonstrated success in a lighting design environment with a proactive, creative approach to problem-solving.
* Software Proficiency: Proficient in Lighting Reality, AGi32, Dialux, and Amtech Pro Design for creating and assessing detailed lighting schemes.
* Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with staff, colleagues, and clients.
* Project Management: Ability to oversee timelines, budgets, and resources from inception through to completion.
