We are looking for dedicated and dynamic staff to join our experienced team in Ophthalmology to support the safe delivery of care within the Eye Theatre Department. Key Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate competence and flexibility as a Theatre Practitioner in scrub, anaesthetics, and recovery.
2. Understand ophthalmic procedures, anaesthetic techniques, and recovery processes.
3. Participate in theatre coordination and act as a team leader.
4. Perform circulating duties, including patient dignity, equipment preparation, stock control, supporting colleagues, and maintaining a clean environment.
5. Assess patient anxiety, provide reassurance, and act as an advocate.
6. Contribute to quality improvement and resource management.
7. Demonstrate competence in emergency resuscitation techniques.
8. Ensure proper cleaning and storage of equipment and safe waste management.
9. Manage mandatory training and compliance via the VLE/BEAT system.
10. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Previous experience in Ophthalmology is desirable but not essential, as full support and training will be provided.
You will join a multi-skilled theatre team caring for both adults and pediatric patients. We encourage applicants with diverse skills; training will be provided if needed. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, with on-call shifts on a rotational basis, including weekends. Optional weekend work is also available.
