Art Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton
Start Date: After the Easter Holidays (Summer Term)
Contract: Full-Time | Temporary until end of July
Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Pay: £165 – £245 per day (dependent on experience)
Position Overview
A high performing secondary school in the Southampton area is seeking a dedicated Art Teacher to join them for the Summer Term. This full‑time temporary role begins immediately after the Easter break and runs until the end of July.
You will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, creating inspiring, creative and structured lessons that support students’ artistic development, technical skills and confidence. What You Will Be Doing
Teaching Art across KS3 and KS4
Delivering engaging lessons that develop creativity, practical skills and artistic expression
Preparing resources, planning schemes of work and contributing to the Art department’s rich curriculum
Supporting students in developing confidence with drawing, painting, mixed media and other creative techniques
Assessing and tracking progress in line with department expectations
Encouraging a positive studio culture built on respect, independence and creativity
What We’re Looking For
A qualified teacher with UK QTS, or someone working toward QTS
Experience teaching Art at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and passion for creative learning
Positive behaviour management aligned with a school known for strong routines
Confidence in delivering practical lessons and supporting students of varying abilities
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
