Irwin and Colton are pleased to be engaged by a major Principal Contractor, with a turnover of approximately £1.5bn, to recruit their new Health and Safety Manager.
This role will focus on driving a positive safety culture across one of their major construction projects in the area. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and motivated health and safety professional looking to further develop and advance their career within the construction and civil engineering industry.
Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager include:
1. Planning health and safety measures throughout the project, from mobilisation to delivery.
2. Assessing upcoming challenges and ensuring appropriate health and safety solutions are in place.
3. Being site-based to assist, advise, and coach contractors to achieve the effective delivery of the health and safety strategy.
4. Conducting incident investigations to identify root causes and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
5. Continuously assessing opportunities for improvement and sharing best practices across the project and wider organisation.
The successful Health and Safety Manager will have:
* Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry, ideally within civil engineering.
* Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate, with a preference for candidates working towards or holding the NEBOSH Diploma.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages and communicate succinctly to various stakeholders.
* Drive and enthusiasm, with a willingness to learn, develop, and grow in the role.
