RGB are working with a leading civil engineering main contractor seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Greater London.
About the Role:
This role offers the chance to take ownership of complex design packages on major infrastructure schemes, provide technical leadership, and play a pivotal role in delivering safe, efficient, and innovative engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate project design phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Produce, review, and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
* Collaborate with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
* Undertake site inspections and resolve design issues as they arise.
* Support project planning, risk management, and value engineering.
* Ensure design deliverables meet programme, budget, and quality requirements.
* Stay up to date with the latest design methods, standards, and technologies.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline (Master’s desirable).
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or progressing towards accreditation.
* Proven civil engineering design experience, ideally with a main contractor.
* Knowledge of UK standards, codes, and regulations.
* Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar).
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
