Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure the efficient movement of goods within the factory/warehousing units. This role is crucial in maintaining a smooth workflow throughout the business.
Job Purpose
A brief overview of responsibilities are;
* Ensure goods are picked and checked for compliance to paperwork and quality.
* Feed required materials to production departments (Extrusion, Print, Conversion & Lam) from designated drop points to correct locations and schedule, ensuring pallets are scanned correctly and racking locations.
* Handle scrap from areas ensuring safely/securely packaged and label correctly.
* Feed finished goods to and from production processes to designated warehouse/area.
* Liaise with Logistics Assistant Days with reference to external resources.
* Ensure the movement of stock is recorded accurately in accordance with company procedures and policies.
* Ensure that stock control of all consumables is done in accordance with company procedures and policies.
* Ensure that all stock is ready and available for further processing.
* Ensure the movement of materials is done safely and in a proper manner.
* Ensure that all MHE pre-start checks are carried out daily and accurately logged.
* Ensure that any fault or problem relating to the department and its equipment is reported immediately.
* Ensure that all paperwork is done correctly and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and policies.
* Ensure that your department is kept clean, tidy and free from danger.
About you
* It is essential that you hold or have previously held a valid counterbalance licence and desirable that you have a valid reach truck licence.
* 2 Years + proven forklift driving experience
* Excellent communication skills
* Self-disciplined with the ability to set and maintain high standards
* Motivated to create a safe environment for yourself at all times ensuring you always work in a safe manner
* Good attention to detail
* Ability to self-motivate
* Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Working hours, Pay and Holiday Entitlement
Hours of work: Monday to Friday rotating shift which consists of;
* Week am to 2.30pm
* Week pm to 10.30pm
* Week pm to 6.30am
Hourly Rate: £13.60
Holidays: Initially you will receive 240 hours per annum which increases through service up to a maximum of 288 Hours.
The holiday year runs from Jan to Dec each year.
