Job summary
We are seeking a self-motivated, highly organized, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Ward Secretary for Garner ward.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work and possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, patients, carers, the public, and other hospital and organizational representatives.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
* Perform clerical and administrative duties supporting the Ward Manager and Inpatient Services.
* Manage triage communications from patients, relatives, carers, and professionals arriving at the ward office.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience (Essential):
* Good GCSEs in English and Maths
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent
* Minute-taking experience
Desirable:
* Experience working with mental health patients
Skills & Aptitude (Essential):
* Administrative experience and familiarity with computer applications
* Ability to remain focused and calm in mental health ward settings
* Ability to manage workload independently
Desirable:
* Previous NHS experience
Knowledge & Abilities (Essential):
* Understanding of mental health difficulties
Desirable:
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975 (Exceptions Order 1975).
