Overview
Quality Assurance Technician - Weekend Days. This role is based on working day shift on Saturday (12 hours), Sunday (12 hours) and Monday (8 hours).

Purpose and focus are to ensure products manufactured are safe, legal and comply with customer quality standards, and to maintain calibrated quality monitoring equipment to comply with legal and customer standards.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and customer-specific standards at all times.
* Collaborate with the Production Team to establish and maintain procedures and standards.
* Complete regular quality reports.
* Conduct internal audits, including product audits to ensure adherence to specifications, swabs, microbiology tests, water tests, GMP audits, lockers, and glass and plastic audits.
* Promote good manufacturing practices.
* Ensure monitoring equipment is calibrated according to schedule and calibration records are retained.
* Assess finished products against quality attributes to ensure compliance with finished product specifications.
* Conduct QA line checks on finished products to verify labeling information, date coding, legality and shelf life.
* Immediately report any product or process out of specification; document non-conformances according to company procedures.
* Assist in identifying root causes of non-conformities or complaints and implement corrective actions.
* Contribute to troubleshooting and problem solving within the factory.
* Complete and document related paperwork legibly, retained and retrievable.
* Assist in implementing the company QMS processes and procedures in the factory.
* Assist Production in maintaining hygienic practices and procedures.
* Compile Product Manuals and labeling information for all products for effective launches.
* Assist in quality testing of raw materials, end products and packaging materials.
* Carry out cleaning verification and validation to support the EMP.
* Assist in 2nd party auditing (suppliers).
* Assist in training new QA team members and Production Operatives.
* Provide coverage during absence within the technical department to ensure business requirements are met.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Level 3 in food hygiene
* Level 2/3 in HACCP
* EMP knowledge
* QMS knowledge
* BRC food manufacturing awareness
* Complaint handling
* Bakery process knowledge
* Internal audit trained
* Basic food law and regulations
* Food manufacturing background
* 2 years experience in food manufacturing environment
* Degree level education
* QMS experience
* Experience in internal auditing
