We are recruiting on behalf of a leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy. They have a permanent vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer based in their Nottingham office.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide technical support and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team consisting of Building Services Designers, Revit Technicians, Building Physicists, and Document Controllers. You will be involved in a wide range of projects across various market sectors, delivering services from feasibility through to detailed and fully coordinated design for installation purposes (RIBA stages 0 to 5).
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications are not required, but relevant experience is essential. Desirable qualifications include:
* Professional membership
* Proficiency with relevant industry design software
* Good time management and organizational skills with a flexible attitude
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Experience in delivering coordinated designs alongside colleagues from other disciplines
* Up-to-date knowledge of current industry regulatory and design standards
* Skills in supervising and mentoring junior engineering staff and apprentices
* Ability to assist with setting design strategies
* Experience in QA documents, design, and drawings prior to issue
* Professional liaison skills with clients, professional teams, contractors, and staff at all levels
* Experience leading small, mixed-discipline teams to deliver projects
* Ability to attend client, design team, and project meetings
* Skills in undertaking feasibility studies and surveys
* Experience in preparing load calculations and applying for utility connections
* Proficiency in producing detailed mechanical services designs
* Experience reviewing sub-contractor design drawings and technical submissions
* Skills in undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and preparing reports
* Knowledge of industry design guides, British Standards, and Building Regulations
