The Licensing Assistant contributes to the approvals process for Topps' Formula 1 products, as well as providing support for UEFA and Premier League releases. This role will assist the Licensing Administrator with Formula 1 and all the team licensing elements for the sport. The role interfaces with licensors and Topps internal departments including Brand & Pre-press, to ensure accuracy of content and compliance with licensor requirements. This is a full-time role, in the designated office 5 days per week. Reports to the Licensing Approvals Manager and/or assistant.
Licensing Assistant Duties & Responsibilities
1. Be a point of contact for Formula 1 for art approvals alongside the F1 Licensing Administrator and build a strong working relationship.
2. Assist in the review and approval of Topps components by licensors and teams, as directed by the Licensing Approvals Manager or F1 Licensing Administrator.
3. Provide input for efficient approvals of team-specific products working with product leads.
4. Coordinate with the Topps Project Manager to ensure approvals are delivered within project schedules.
5. Maintain assets supplied by Licensors, specifically Formula 1, ensuring their efficient and timely supply.
6. Review printer proofs and card sheets in collaboration with Editorial and Brand teams.
7. Ensure accuracy in all Topps projects and incorporate licensor feedback effectively.
8. Keep accurate records of licensor feedback and project status using Topps approvals software and external systems.
9. Contribute to process improvements within the licensing team, recommending changes for greater efficiency.
10. Support workflow across the portfolio, including F1 and football, through ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Licensing Manager.
11. Possess sound knowledge of motor sport and football.
12. Preferably have experience working in relevant licensing and administrative roles.
13. Exhibit excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
14. Be an English speaker with strong reading and writing skills; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
15. Understand licensor style guides, team kits, logos, and IP markings.
16. Work effectively under pressure, meeting tight deadlines on multiple projects.
17. Be able to work collaboratively with internal departments and teams.
18. Maintain a proactive approach, prioritizing tasks to meet targets.
19. Be methodical with high attention to detail and accuracy.
20. Be competent in all Microsoft Office applications; experience with Airtable and tracker systems is advantageous.
21. Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (preferred).
