Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior Streetworks coordinator to join our busy Street Works team.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the coordination and compliance team, working closely with the senior Street Works inspector and the Street Works Manager to keep the City of York moving and the highway users safe.
* Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation, including New Roads & Street Works Act, Traffic Management Act and Highways Act, and coordinate all street and road works within the highway to minimise the impact on traffic and other highway users.
* Have extensive experience working in a Network Management environment, to tight deadlines, and in close collaboration with a range of teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications & experience
* Extensive experience working in a Network Management environment.
* Excellent knowledge of legislation: New Roads & Street Works Act, Traffic Management Act, Highways Act.
* Experience coordinating street and road works, minimising traffic impact.
* Strong communication skills – able to converse in spoken English to CEFR level C1, provide advice & guidance to members of the public.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Working arrangements
Hybrid working arrangements are available. Each role at CYC is different; working arrangements will be determined based on the role requirements and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
