Are you an experienced Science Technician with a strong background in supporting science education? We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Science Technician to join our dynamic science department at a secondary school in the Bury area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
* Support teachers during practical sessions
* Maintain and organise laboratory stock, including the safe storage and disposal of chemicals
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the laboratory
* Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
* Assist in the development of practical science resources
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school setting
* Strong understanding of school science experiments and lab procedures
* Confident in handling and maintaining chemicals and lab equipment
* A relevant qualification (e.g., degree in a science subject) or significant school-based technician experience
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* A proactive and safety-conscious approach
Desirable:
* Knowledge of CLEAPSS guidelines
* Experience supporting GCSE or A-Level science
