The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising and coordinating all mechanical site activities — ensuring work is delivered safely, to specification, on time, and to a high standard of quality. This position is ideal for an experienced mechanical professional with a background in pipework, welding, and installation within water or energy infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: * Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all site personnel, contractors, and visitors. * Ensure health, safety & environmental documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and appropriately reviewed. * Verify that all relevant documents (drawings, method statements, work instructions) accurately describe the tasks being carried out. * Supervise mechanical works to ensure they are executed in line with approved RAMS and technical drawings. * Review and provide input on Method Statements and Work Instructions in line with the project execution requirements. * Maintain accurate records of work progress, including red-line drawings and site diaries where required. * Identify and report non-conformances and improvement opportunities; follow up on agreed corrective actions. * Ensure a high-quality mechanical installation, with ITPs completed progressively as works are delivered. Candidate Requirements: Experience: * Demonstrable experience supervising mechanical installations in the water, energy, or heavy infrastructure sectors. * Strong understanding of pipework fabrication, welding, pressure testing, and mechanical assembly. * Able to interpret and work to Isometric, GA, and P&ID drawings. * Confident in identifying quality issues in welds, valves, and mechanical components. Qualifications: * HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience through a trade apprenticeship (pipefitting/welding). * Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification. * CSCS card (relevant to mechanical site supervision). * First Aid at Work qualification (preferred but not essential).
