We require a strong understanding of storage infrastructure. We require a strong understanding of virtual infrastructure. We require Microsoft knowledge and experience. We require the ability to mentor others and share technical knowledge. We require the ability to work occasional out-of-hours shifts for planned works or major incidents. Responsibilities: We own, support, install, and administer corporate firewall and perimeter security solutions. We liaise with customers and appropriate IT staff. We advise on technical and security standards to ensure compliance, protect systems and services, and maintain high service availability. We combine line management responsibilities with in-depth technical expertise across a range of IT infrastructure services. We coordinate small teams of technicians across IT and Technology to deliver new services and service improvements. We work within a technical operations team covering Hyper-Converged Systems, infrastructure security, SQL database administration, system backup management and administration, server administration across Windows, Solaris, Linux, and VMware, file structure and permission management, facilities management, security testing, and disaster recovery. We mentor and guide technical specialists and other technical staff as part of our knowledge-sharing culture. In this role, we support a critical technical environment and work alongside other specialists to strengthen perimeter security and future-proof our systems against emerging threats.
