First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Building Services Estimator on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepare mechanical take-offs, pricing schedules, and bills of quantities from drawings and specifications.
2. Work within agreed time scales and provide output to an accepted standard.
3. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to gather sufficient information for accurate cost estimates.
4. Communicate with the supply chain, obtaining quotations, reviewing, and aligning costs for inclusion in the overall estimate.
5. Where required, update the database of costs and historic cost data.
Skills and qualifications:
6. Proficiency in standard computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as peripheral software packages like Bluebeam.
7. At least five years of experience in the construction industry, preferably but not exclusively in building services estimating.
8. Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Salary: £35,000-£65,000.
Location: Oxford.
