What the role is all about:
Our Software Engineers play a critical role in Vitality’s successful business model by building and maintaining software solutions. You will work in line with quality and time parameters to offer brilliant products with seamless, intuitive customer journeys.
You will act as an intermediate authority with experience in building full solutions across journeys. You will have the chance to work closely with stakeholders/product owners and a wide variety of internal and external technical teams.
Key Actions
1. Implement the software development life cycle: build, maintain, test, deliver, release, and document user-friendly and customer-centric software solutions, as required.
2. Deliver to standards: Understand and apply Vitality’s defined technical and process standards to ensure the effective management of risks and the protection of Vitality’s data.
3. Provide integrated solutions: ensure solutions are user-focused, well aligned, and effectively integrated across multiple teams and platforms to meet business needs.
4. Engage stakeholders: Collaborate, work with, and develop an understanding of the needs and requirements of both internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
5. Build and transfer skills and knowledge: Take responsibility for developing personal skills and expertise aligned to role.
6. Collaborate within and across teams: Work effectively with others across varying areas of expertise to achieve results.
Essential Skills needed to fulfill this role:
* Minimum 2-3+ years proven work experience in Full stack Software Engineering
* Advanced knowledge of multiple programming languages, such as .NET, Javascript (including GraphQL, TypeScript), SQL Server or Postgres, DB schema & API swagger
* Experience with a range of modern web application frameworks and integration technologies
* Full stack development experience including web, services (microservices), and databases
* Analytical skills to interpret complex relationships and data sets
* Effective written and verbal communication skills to train, coach, and collaborate with staff and management
* Working knowledge in engineering standards and practices, user experience, low-level specifications, technical analysis, performance, DevOps, and CI/CD tooling
