Biology Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Lancaster. This long-term role is ideal for someone who is immediately available and eager to contribute to a thriving school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Biology lessons to students at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being an advantage.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver engaging and informative Biology lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels, and potentially KS5.
* Utilise strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills to create a conducive learning environment.
* Assess, monitor, and report on the progress of students.
* Implement and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials for classroom activities.
* Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and promotes enthusiasm for learning.
* Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Recent and relevant experience teaching Biology at KS3 and KS4; experience at KS5 is advantageous.
* Demonstrated ability to be an excellent classroom practitioner with robust classroom management skills.
* Reliable, committed, and capable of working effectively with students.
* Exhibits qualities of a good role model such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be patient and confident when working with children.
