Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in care homes or through home care services, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans accurately while fostering a supportive environment for those in need.
Duties
* Assist residents or clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
* Support individuals in maintaining their independence and dignity while providing emotional and social support.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care is maintained.
* Follow care plans meticulously to meet the specific needs of each individual.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
* Drive to clients' homes when required, ensuring safe transportation and adherence to all road safety regulations.
* Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to care practices.
Skills
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
* Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software.
* Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for roles that require travel between locations.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial attributes for success in this role.
