Great Missenden HP16 0AA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Summary of duties · Overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management. · Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation and cooking techniques. · Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen. · Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and food production to ensure quality and consistency. · Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking methods, food handling, and safety procedures. · Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations. · Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. · Help create an innovative culinary experience that reflects the restaurant's vision and values. Experience · Proven experience as Sous Chef or in a similar role within a gastro pub setting is desirable. At least 3 years experience required · Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices. · Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising and training kitchen staff. · Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. · A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable. · Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
