The Opportunity Reporting to the Chair and Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic leadership across the organisation, ensuring Co-operation Ireland continues to deliver meaningful impact through its programmes, partnerships and advocacy. This is a role for an ambitious and values-driven leader who can inspire people, build partnerships and translate vision into action. You will lead a talented and committed team, steward the organisation's resources and reputation, and ensure Co-operation Ireland remains resilient, innovative and influential in an evolving social, political and funding environment. You will be responsible for: Setting and delivering the organisation's strategic vision and long-term objectives. Leading and developing a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team. Driving operational excellence and organisational performance. Ensuring programmes, partnerships and investments deliver measurable outcomes and lasting impact. Maintaining strong governance, financial sustainability and effective risk management. Building strategic relationships with funders, governments, civic leaders, donors and community partners. Acting as the public face and ambassador of Co-operation Ireland across local, national and international audiences. Who We're Looking For We are seeking an accomplished leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational delivery and a genuine commitment to creating positive social impact. You may currently be operating as a CEO, Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer or in another senior executive role with responsibility for organisational strategy, people and performance. Most importantly, you will bring the ability to inspire confidence, build trusted relationships and lead with integrity and purpose. Essential Experience You will be able to demonstrate: Experience operating at senior executive level (CEO, MD, COO or equivalent). A track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering organisational performance. Experience developing and implementing organisational strategy with measurable outcomes. Strong commercial and financial acumen, including accountability for budgets, funding and long-term sustainability. Experience working closely with Boards or Trustees, ensuring high standards of governance, accountability and compliance. Proven ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including funders, government, partners and external bodies. Experience driving organisational performance through KPIs and impact measurement. Experience leading programmes or services within complex and/or multi-site environments. Strong understanding of organisational risk, compliance and reputational management. A full current driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use. Desirable Experience It would be advantageous if you have experience of: Working within not-for-profit, public sector, sport or community-based organisations. Leading organisational transformation, growth or change programmes. Securing funding or developing strategic partnerships. Delivering complex programmes or capital projects.
