Description Project Officer | 10200 | Temporary Contract until 31 March 2028 | 37 hours per week | £32,061 to £33,699 per annum (Scale G) | County Hall, Norwich / Hybrid Project Officer – One Million Trees Initiative Help shape Norfolk’s greener future Are you passionate about restoring nature and improving the environment at scale? Join Norfolk County Council’s Environment Service and play a key role in delivering our ambitious One Million Trees Initiative. We’re looking for a driven and experienced Project Officer to lead innovative woodland creation projects across Norfolk and the Claylands landscape in Suffolk. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible environmental impact—supporting tree planting, enhancing biodiversity, and helping create resilient landscapes for generations to come. About the role You’ll lead the delivery of high-impact projects, including: Facilitating woodland creation across Norfolk and the East Anglian Claylands through the Woodland Trust MOREwoods scheme. Distributing free Targeting Tree Disease Packs to support tree health across Norfolk and the East Anglian Claylands This is a collaborative and outward-facing role. You’ll be delivering woodland for the Woodland Trust, working in close partnership to maximise delivery and impact. Building strong relationships will be central to your success—you’ll engage with landowners, communities, and local partners to unlock opportunities for planting and habitat creation. Using GIS and spatial analysis tools, you’ll identify priority areas for tree and hedgerow planting, develop opportunity maps, and help guide strategic environmental decision-making across the county. We’re looking for someone who brings: Proven experience delivering tree planting or environmental projects Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong project management and organisational ability A proactive, solutions-focused mindset Why join us?
