The Role
We are looking for a Legal Cashier - Application Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced Legal Cashier who wants to step into a more consultative, technology-focused position. In this role you will:
* Act as a bridge between legal finance teams and software solutions
* Use your real-world cashiering experience to help firms implement and optimise
* Work in a client-facing, problem-solving environment within a growing legal tech company
* Support firms in achieving accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in their financial workflows
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultation & Requirements Gathering
* Engage with clients to understand workflows, billing models, and financial controls
* Run workshops covering time recording, disbursements, client accounting, and billing cycles
* Map cashiering processes including client/matter ledgers, approvals, and compliance requirements
Solution Design & Configuration
* Configure billing modules, including time capture, billing rules, and fee structures
* Design workflows for client accounts, office accounts, reconciliations, and reporting
* Implement document management configurations (security, metadata, templates, lifecycle rules)
* Produce clear configuration documentation and design specifications
Implementation & Deployment
* Support system setup in line with legal accounting standards (e.g. SRA Accounts Rules)
* Assist with data migration (chart of accounts, transactions, balances, documents)
* Support integrations with finance systems, DMS, and payment platforms
* Coordinate testing and go-live support
Training & User Adoption
* Deliver training to finance teams, fee earners, and support staff
* Guide users through new billing and cashiering workflows
* Provide post-implementation support
Ongoing Support & Continuous Improvement
* Troubleshoot issues across billing and cashiering systems
* Recommend improvements to efficiency, compliance, and reporting
* Stay up to date with legal tech trends and product updates
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Legal Cashier in a law firm
* Experience with legal systems (e.g. Aderant, Elite 3E, LEAP, Clio)
* Strong knowledge of:
* Legal billing and time recording
* Client and office account management
* SRA / Law Society regulations
* Experience with document management systems (iManage, NetDocuments, SharePoint) (preferred)
* Ability to translate real-world processes into system solutions
* Experience or interest in configuration, UAT, data migration, and training
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
