To provide day-to-day care for service users under the supervision of a clinician, adhering to best practice, standards and guidelines, and contributing towards the service users' care and treatment.
Responsibilities include:
* Work in partnership with service users and other members of the multidisciplinary team to achieve the optimum health outcome for clients.
* Provide high and consistent levels of holistic care, maintaining the dignity and equality of each individual. This includes direct care.
* Support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high standards of care.
Main Duties
* Work full-time as a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within the Denbighshire Community Mental Health Team.
* Hold a positive attitude towards the mental health care of older persons and ensure individuals' needs for privacy, respect, dignity and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
* Provide high standards of care and work as part of a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team based at the Community Mental Health Team in Denbighshire.
* Welsh language skills are desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* QCF Level 3 or equivalent qualifications/experience.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care related subjects or equivalent.
* Good knowledge of anatomy & physiology.
* Understanding of multidisciplinary/agency working and individual team roles.
Desirable
* All Wales HCSW induction framework.
* Training in Mental Health.
* Understanding of risk management and health and safety issues.
Experience
* Essential: Experience of working as a HCSW without direct supervision in a clinical setting, being managed by a qualified practitioner.
* Good understanding of risk assessment and management.
* Significant experience working in a caring environment for older people.
Desirable
* Experience working in a mental health care setting.
* Experience working in the community.
Skills
* Essential: Ability to provide wound care using aseptic technique.
* ANNT.
* Phlebotomy.
* Basic observations.
* Clear and accurate communication.
* Adaptability to new and changing circumstances.
* Work alone under supervision and know when to seek clinical advice and support.
Desirable
* Vital signs recording (BP, pulse, temp, respirations, blood sugar).
