Job Title: Shovel/Loader Operator (Port Operations)
Job Summary:
Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a shovel/loader within ship holds to manage biomass and other cargo during vessel discharge and loading. This hands-on role supports stevedoring operations and requires flexibility to work varying hours based on ship schedules.
Key Duties:
* Operate shovel/loader inside ship holds.
* Support cargo discharge/loading as part of the stevedoring team.
* Perform equipment checks and maintain a safe, clean work area.
* Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures, particularly regarding dust and confined spaces.
* Assist with manual handling and other port tasks as needed.
Requirements:
* Experience operating shovel/loaders in confined environments.
* Strong safety awareness, especially with biomass materials.
* Team-oriented, reliable, and physically fit.
* Flexible with working hours tied to vessel schedules.
Desirable:
* Port or stevedoring experience, relevant licenses (telehandler, forklift), or safety training.
