Your new company Due to internal changes, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Mechanical (Operations) Technician based at a local powerplant. Working on a shift pattern of days and nights with a 12-day break at the end of the set rotation, then repeating. You will require strong mechanical experience ideally gained within power generation or heavy industry. Your new role The Operations Technician plays a critical role in the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the power plant. You will be responsible for monitoring plant performance, operating equipment, conducting routine inspections, and supporting maintenance activities to ensure continuous generation and compliance with environmental and safety standards. Operate and monitor boilers, turbines, fuel handling systems, emissions controls, and auxiliary equipment from both the control room and field. Adjust plant parameters to maintain optimal performance, efficiency, and output. Conduct regular plant walkdowns to identify abnormal conditions, leaks, vibrations, or safety hazards. Start up, shut down, and isolate equipment following established procedures and permits.
