Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Post-16 Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Salary: £89–£103 per day Contract: Full-time, Long-Term Start Date: Immediate Help young people ‘Achieve, Believe and Succeed’ We’re working with a specialist post-16 setting in Newcastle that provides a holistic, person-centred curriculum designed to prepare young people with SEND for adulthood. The ethos is simple but powerful: Achievement for All. Every learner is encouraged to develop independence, confidence, and the skills they need to thrive in life beyond education. As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be part of a dedicated team supporting students with a wide range of needs, from autism and complex learning difficulties to physical disabilities. Your role will be to provide consistent support, encouragement, and care—helping every student reach their potential. Your role will include: Supporting learners aged 16–25 in lessons, life skills, and community-based learning Providing 1:1 and small group support to promote independence and confidence Assisting with communication, personal development, and preparation for adult life Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver a person-centred approach What we’re looking for: Experience supporting young people with SEND (in education, care, or community settings) A calm, patient, and proactive approach Strong teamwork and communication skills A commitment to supporting every learner to Achieve, Believe and Succeed What Protocol Education offers: Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella companies FREE access to our online CPD Academy, including SEND and Thrive training Specialist support from a dedicated SEND consultant Long-term roles with opportunities to build your SEND career All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
