Overview

Nursery Practitioner – Full-Time & Part-Time

Location: Sunderland

Daily Rate: £108 - £120 (depending on hours worked)


About the Role

Empowering Learning is seeking enthusiastic and nurturing Nursery Practitioners to support private day nurseries in Sunderland. We have both full-time and part-time positions available with flexible working options. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where children aged 0-5 years can learn, play, and thrive.


Key Responsibilities

* Caring for Children
Ensure the well-being, health, and safety of all children. Support babies, toddlers, and preschool children through daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, nappy changes, and rest periods.
* Supporting Learning and Development
Deliver fun and engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework. Encourage exploration, creativity, and learning through play. Observe, assess, and record children's development and progress.
* Building Relationships
Create strong, trusting bonds with children and their families. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing updates and progress. Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a consistent and supportive environment.
* Maintaining a Safe and Clean Setting
Ensure the nursery is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times. Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene procedures.
* Planning and Record Keeping
Assist with curriculum planning, observations, and child profiles. Contribute ideas during planning meetings and develop new activity ideas.


What We're Looking For

* Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience working in a nursery or childcare setting.
* A genuine passion for working with children.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development.
* A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.
