About the role
Ecclesiastical Insurance, who are proudly part of Benefact Group are looking for a Trading Manager to join our Manchester office.
As Trading Manager, you will be responsible for delivering consistent, effective new business performance while shaping a high‑performing team culture. You'll play a pivotal role in driving underwriting excellence, strengthening our broker relationships, and ensuring our service consistently reflects the values and ambitions of Ecclesiastical Insurance. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll influence strategy, champion continuous improvement, and empower your team to achieve outstanding results.

What you'll be doing
Lead the team to deliver corporate strategy.
Plan, prioritise and manage individual and team workflow effectively in conjunction with the Operations Manager to deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring forecast demand is adequately resourced.
Set and monitor team and individual service targets on an annual, weekly, and daily basis to maximise team performance and meet objectives.
Manage individual performance.
Drive the delivery of New Business KPIs delivering profitable results in line with or better than planned objectives.
Support the delivery of outstanding business relationships through the delivery of outstanding service.
Pro-actively support Business Development in the delivery of their objectives with brokers
Embed a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement, collaborating across the wider business.
Ensure all recruitment is managed against EIO's Underwriting authorities.
Support the on-going technical underwriter assessment of performance across the Underwriting team.
What you'll need to have
Experience of leading and managing successful teams within a Commercial Insurer
Experience of effective stakeholder management within a commercial environment.
Experience of analysing data and MI reporting driving business outcomes.
Demonstrable market and industry knowledge.
Proven track record in trading and developing business.
Proven ability to coach for enhanced performance of others.
